You’re free to do any activity you choose, but your travel insurance only covers you if you have an accident while doing moderate-risk activities. For example, you’ll be covered if you have an accident while:
- Jet skiing
- Snorkelling
- Downhill skiing at a ski resort
- Recreational surfing
- Riding a camel or an elephant
Of course, in order to receive compensation for the accident, you must have followed the safety rules for the activity in question.
You won’t be covered if you have an accident while doing more risky activities like:
- Zip-lining
- Rock-climbing
- Bungee jumping
- Hang-gliding
- Flyboarding
- Kitesurfing
- Skydiving
- Competitive surfing
